My sweet memory comes from one of the first times I ever set foot on stage in front of a live audience. This picture that I have included was from the first music festival I played in my community. I was encouraged by local musicians to perform at this festival and was told by the promoter that I had a bright future as a singer and instrumentalist, playing several instruments including the guitar, piano, banjo, and dobro, to name a few. As I mentioned above, this was the biggest crowd I have played for and it was one of the best performances I’ve ever had on stage, singing the TG Sheppard hit, “I Loved ‘Em Everyone” and Kenny Rogers’ “Love or Something Like It”. Since then so have won my county’s local fair talent contest and will be performing at the Arkansas State Fair Talent Competition in the fall. That first time singing on stage opened so many doors for me when it comes to furthering a music career.
