Today, 9/20/2023, as I submit our entry to this contest, we have been married 42 years. I am, Ramona, from Minnesota and my sweet husband, William (Bama Bill), is from…you guessed it…Alabama. We actually saw Vince and Paul together “way back when” they were on their “Bakersfield” Tour at the Crystal Theatre, in Wisconsin Dells. We also love Vince and Amy together…and saw them many years ago at the MN State Fair…where everything is “on-a-stick”.
We are old enough to have owned Albums, 8-Tracks, Cassettes, CDs, and young enough to own a newer car that no longer comes with a CD player…bummer! So we hope y'all don't mind that we download some of our CDs to a USB thumb-drive-stick-thingy so we can still listen to your music in our car. Sweet Memories come around again for us each time we hear "Look at Us".
Attached is our Memories x42 years in the making (Wedding photo of 9/20/1981, and photo from our first "Snowbird" trip to Orange Beach, Alabama last winter where we attended the Christmas Pot-Luck at Flora-Bama). We will drive down from cold-butt MinneSNOWta to Alabama just before Christmas (by way of Nashville) to Snowbird for a second time in Orange Beach, AL. So if you pick us—or even if you don’t pick us to win, I’d really appreciate if you could ask Vince and Amy if there is any way I can purchase (2) tickets to their Christmas Show at the Ryman – for Dec 13 or 14, 2023. When I go to the website it just keeps saying “try back again”. I called the Ryman ticket box office and was told there’s tickets that have not yet been released…so maybe you can find (2) for us to purchase.
We LOVE all you great musicians and the people that make it all happen behind the scenes too! Keep making that beautiful and meaningful music…because it is truly music for the soul.
