I have been lucky to spend 50 years in country radio in 2023. Along the way I worked for Buck Owens and continue to love all of the music. I am a big fan of VINCE and his music. Here is a FUN memory. Back in the early 90's I was on the ACM awards Board of Directors. My wife and I came in a day earlier and were at rehearsals on stage for the 1993 ACM awards. Dick Clark and crew were "rehearsing" and timing the acceptance of the ACM Entertainer of the year. The awards show was airing on tv the next night. We were sitting on an end row at Universal Amphitheater when my wife said out loud, OH, GARTH will probably WIN. At that precise moment VINCE GILL was walking up the steps past us at rehearsals, heard what my wife said and leaned over to her and stated------"WELL, YOU NEVER KNOW IF GARTH WINS OR MAYBE ME, then he walked away with a smile. My wife turned 3 shades of RED that day. I will never forget. The attached picture of Vince and I was taken in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1991.
