This picture holds one of the best memories for me. My husband and I were going to Chicago to the Vince Gill concert. It was also around the time of my 30th birthday and a couple of months before I was due with my third baby. Financially we were struggling, because I was a stay at home mom and my husband is a teacher. Some how though, my husband came up with the money to surprise me with Vince tickets. My birthday is October 3rd, so my family also had a surprise party for me. About two weeks after my birthday we were supposed to go to the concert. My sister calls me on the day of the concert and says she has another gift for me. Then my mom calls and says she is coming because she wants to see my reaction to this gift. We had my other kids soccer games and then we were going to drive 3 hours to Chicago to see Vince, but I waited for my sister and mom. I thought this must be an important present if my mom is coming to watch me open it. Well, my sister wrote a lovely note to Vince's tour manager and asked how she could get me meet and greet passes. She heard back from him the morning of the concert and he said two meet and greet passes would be waiting for me. Finding this out, I cried and cried. I have always wanted to meet Vince Gill. I cried all the way to Chicago, I cried waiting, in line to meet him. I cried so hard someone asked me if I needed to sit. I would like to say I cried because I was seven months pregnant and emotional, but I was just so darn excited to meet Vince. I asked for a hug and probably said something stupid, but it was amazing. Well, one month after the concert, our son was born prematurely and was in NicU for awhile. He ended up doing great and I have a great story to share with him. It's a sweet memory.
