The first time we got to meet him was in 2016 when we were in Nashville visiting friends. We were walking the street and my husband saw a tent sign in front of Ernest Tubbs music store, saying Vince Gill at 2 o’clock. It was only 11 so my friends and I continue to shop, but he waited in line for three hours. We came back, and when the doors opened, we wear a shirt to the back of the store where he was going to be giving a radio interview. When he came out of the back room, I said “Vince, you are on his bucket list and he’s not getting any younger. He came right over and took a picture with us and talk to us for a bit. Since then we have seen him at the Holland tulip festival which was my favorite because he was just by himself with his guitar and it was a concert to remember. Very pure. We have been to third and Lindsley when he sits in with that band but when he teams up with Paul Franklin, it’s a dream. Our good friend is a steel guitar player and Paul Franklin does such a great job . We found out later after seeing him about 10 or 12 times that he used to come and visit our small town in Michigan to visit some friends of ours. Ron Williams and his brothers when he was younger. We’re heading back to Nashville in November to see once again Amy’s Christmas concert was also top-notch.
