My sweet memories begin with "Amy, What You Want to Do" on the radio as a kid, thinking well that song just had to be written for me. I fell in love with Vince's voice though when "When I Call Your Name" was released. I remember my Mama always saying, "Turn that up," when that song came on. I also remember doing a little prayer right before the 1990 CMA award for Single of the Year was announced. I was elated when it won. Mama was happy too. So many great songs through the years that played from my childhood to today. I love putting some Vince Gill on and driving down an old road not knowing where I'm going. Singing along and being glad I'm out in the boonies so no one can hear my high notes. I was so happy to see Vince a few times in concert and I have a photo with him and Hank Thompson at what they used to call Fan Fair in 1990. Look at those cheeks, just so pinchable.
